First remote meeting a success!

Thanks to our members and the local ham radio community, PARC was able to conduct business as usual via the 146.94 repeater on April 4, 2020. Getting together on the air was a new experience for some but “right up our alley” — no internet link required!

Club Secretary Melinda KG5NWD called the meeting to order after a successful pre-net checkin process. Mark KG5NWE, Brad N5LUL, and John K5IT were on hand to provide van committee reports, an April contesting opportunities report, and the treasurers report. Dan WA8YYE’s repeater report was read by net control.

Netlogger was used by net control to record checkins: members were able to observe checkin info and use the almost instant messaging feature provided by the program. In total, we had 32 checkins.

While we all missed the in-person visiting, this format got the job done. Thanks to all who stuck around for the Zoom experiment — John K5IT was there to help work out the kinks and we’ll have an easier time with the Zoom experience next month.

See you on 146.94 for the May 2 meeting! Hopefully we’ll all be back to normal in June 🙂 Meanwhile, we all wish you good health!

73 as always, your PARC officers.
