This year has flown by!  I can hardly believe that there remains only one more regular meeting and our Christmas Potluck Luncheon before we tie the ribbon on this year and put it on the shelf!!

I was very gratified and proud to see so many of you at the October meeting.  Your participation made a very favorable impression on John Stratton N5AUS ARRL West Gulf Division Director and Dale Durham W5WI ARRL West Texas Section Manager.  Hope all of you that are ARRL Members will vote as you see fit.  I hope those of you that are not ARRL members will consider joining.  Enough with the stumping!

Many of you have sent your picnic sign-ups, and “thank you”.  Want to make sure we will have enough pizza to get everyone’s “shimmy, shirt, and pants” full!!  Cross your fingers that the weather holds!!  Looking forward to the fun and fellowship.  Be sure to bring chairs and any entertainment that strikes your fancy i.e. dominoes, cards, games, conversation, etc.

Don’t forget to send in your “Ham of the Year” nomination if you have one.  If you tried and were unable to submit right after the meeting, please try again.  There was a bit of a glitch which Melinda has rectified.  This year the process is a little different in that we ask that you choose only one Ham as your nominee.  I know this will be very difficult since we have so many Hams who deserve this honor.  Our “Ham of the Year” will be chosen at the November meeting as part of our Election process.  This is your Club and needs your input.  See you at the “polls” at the November meeting.

Thanks to Dan Hoff KF5JED and Daniel Holcomb KG5KIF for organizing our participation in the Team ANB Mountain Bike Marathon November 9th in Palo Duro Canyon.  Make sure you go to the post on this website to sign up to “man” a station.  Hope to see many of you there!

Once again I offer deepest thanks to Craig KC5FWP, John N5BNU, Scott KG5ZES, Dan WA8YYE, and Ed K5KBV for their generous donations of radios, miscellaneous items, and time in making the coffer replenishing auctions at the meetings possible.  Thanks are deserved and extended to those of you who so generously purchased these treasures as well.

Keep checking the website for more details on the Christmas Potluck Luncheon as time draws near.  Once again we are lucky to be able to hold this event at the Simms Building courtesy of Chip Orton and the Amarillo OEM.  My mouth is already watering!
