Made it through May!!
The Month of May was extremely busy, challenging, and fun for me. Hope all of you enjoyed it as well.
As we move into the summer months things will slow down a bit allowing us all to take a deep breath. Naturally, Field Day is the 4th weekend in June (June 22nd & 23rd). We are in good hands again this year with Raymond W5RAW, his lovely wife Gail, and son Adair KD5DYP at the reins. Raymond’s presentation at the Club meeting on Saturday highlighted all the progress that has been made in preparation for this event. Additional volunteers were gained, but there are still a few areas that need to be filled. A schedule for the event as well as a listing of needs will be posted on this website, and I encourage anyone who is ready, willing, and able to contact Raymond to volunteer. Don’t miss out!! Be a part of Field Day and enjoy the fun and fellowship!!
July and August look to be full of “the lazy days of summer”. At this time there is nothing scheduled; however, activities that have been suggested include a picnic, tour of the National Weather Service, a road trip to Clovis to tour the Norman Petty Studios, etc. Please contact one of the officers if you would like to organize or participate in any of these activities, or would like to suggest others.
In the month of September activity will ramp up again with Route 66, Tri-State Fair Parade, and the Emergency Expos at the Civic Center. September is also the month for the Nominating Committee to begin the job of assembling a slate of Officers to be presented at the October meeting. Looking for volunteers (3 to 4) to serve on the committee. I would ask all members to consider serving as an officer if approached by the committee, or better yet, contact the committee and volunteer!!
Hope everyone enjoys their summer. Get out there and have fun with family and friends, including your Ham family and friends!!
