The month of May is one of the busiest of the year for Panhandle Amateur Radio Club!!

Of course we began the month with the PARC 19th Annual HamFest which was another great success!!  Heartfelt thanks and gratitude from me for all the members’ support and participation.  Please check the HamFest Recap for more details.

Next up is our participation as communications for the USA Cycling Mountain Bike Championships in Palo Duro Canyon on May 15th.  Thanks to Jamie AB7II for doing an excellent job as Chairman for this event, and thanks to all the volunteers who will be in the Canyon representing our Club.

Next up is Lamar Science Day on May 17th.  Melinda KG5NWD is working very hard to organize another fun and informative experience for the kids at Lamar Elementary.  Please be sure to visit her post to sign up as a participant.  It is very rewarding to be able to share our hobby with this younger generation, but you will probably feel like you have been run over by a truck by the end of the day!

The following weekend is Memorial Day.  Eastern New Mexico Amateur Radio Club will be hosting their Swapfest in Clovis, Saturday, May 25th.  I encourage anyone who can to make the trip to Clovis.

On this Memorial Day enjoy your family and friends, food and fun, but most of all remember and honor those who have served and given so much for us!!

Take care!!  See you all in June!  PARC Meeting June 1st and of course Field Day June 22nd and 23rd!!
